PSN games of the year 2008

PlayStation Network has had great year with a huge number of great games to download - so why not have a look at some of the highlights of 2008?

Pain
Released: March 2008

One of the most outlandish games to be released this year, Pain is a riotous comedy slapstick bonanza, which is sure to leave you in stitches and your on-screen character with a fair few bumps. Launch your chosen victim from a giant rubber band into a number of different environments and try to cause as much mayhem as possible to rack up your score. Best of all, Pain's cartoon fun can be increased with a number of downloadble extras, from new locations to celebrity characters such as actor David Hasselhoff.

Siren: Blood Curse
Released: July 2008

Chilling urban horror is the tone of Siren: Blood Curse, a game of stealth and survival which pits your wits against the terrifying likes of the living dead and other monsters as you aim to stay alive in Hanuda, the Vanished Village. Available to download in 12 continuous episodes, Siren: Blood Curse has you playing as multiple characters so you can experience the terror from each of their perspectives as the storyline progresses.

Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
Released: August 2008

The latest adventure of the space faring duo landed on PSN with a brilliant blend of puzzle solving, platforming and pulse pounding action. Mixing sci-fi swashbuckling adventure with a sly sense of humour, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty will keep you sailing for hours.

WipEout HD
Released: September 2008
