MotorStorm Pacific Rift

Set on an idyllic Pacific island, the second MotorStorm festival is the perfect destination if you like thrills mixed in with your golden beaches. As beautiful as the environment looks, its palm trees, active volcanoes and crystalline streams are there for one reason - to smash, scorch and drown any driver plucky enough to race across it.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Danger in paradise is also a theme of Nathan Drake's PlayStation debut, as the plucky adventurer searches for the lost treasure of El Dorado. As you take in the lush, verdant jungle, punctuated by the crumbling remains of ancient civilisations, be careful not to spend too long gazing up at the canopy; an army of ruthless mercenaries is searching for the same treasure and will stop at nothing to get there first. This is a game for anyone with a sense of adventure.

Far Cry 2

If you've ever been on holiday and forgotten your malaria tablets, then let Far Cry 2 be your cautionary tale. Set in a war-torn African state, your character must deal with the effects of the disease as well as the gangs of mercenaries baying for him.
