Win a place at EA's exclusive Dead Space event

Fancy attending an exclusive event for EA’s forthcoming sci-fi survival horror, Dead Space? Bring some steely nerves and, most importantly, a pen and a healthy imagination...

Dead Space is Electronic Arts' 18+ rated space-bound adventure on PLAYSTATION 3 which blends science fiction and survival horror into a terrifying videogames union - and to celebrate its release in October 2008, EA has teamed up with uk.playstation.com to give one lucky winner and a friend the chance to attend an exclusive invite-only event for the game on September 17, 2008.

That's not the only thing in store for the victor of this competition, however. In attending the event, the winner will get the chance to write a report on the whole day as an honorary uk.playstation.com writer, alongside a member of the team. You'll receive a PS3 goodies bag, play Dead Space weeks before it hits the shelves, meet members of the development team behind the game, watch an exclusive worldwide screening of the tie-in animated feature film, Dead Space: Downfall - and then write all about your experience, for publication on uk.playstation.com at a later date.

How do you win?

To take part in this very special competition you will need to flex your imagination a little and show off your scribing abilities by writing a short 200 word piece to demonstrate your love for the survival horror genre. Make it creative, make it eloquent - that means no obscenities, please - and, if you can, make it spine-tingly, bone-chillingly scary.  The best tale of terror selected on these aspects will earn its author and a friend a spot at the event.

Post your entry in our forums by the closing date of 23:59 on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Also please see the terms and conditions on our forums entry page for more information, and note that this competition is only open to people aged 18 and over. Get writing and best of luck!
