A whole new batch of Pain

Slapstick comedy title Pain is getting a massive array of extras courtesy of PlayStation Network. Dare you go head to head with its explosive fun?

Online multiplayer is coming to PlayStation Network smash 'em up, Pain, with a free patch that allows you to experience the game in a new way. Due for release on March 19, 2009, the update allows up to four players to play online against each other, bringing more people together online in Pain than before.

That's not all - more content is due to crash-land on the title soon after. Costumes, themes and other free (and occasionally mysterious) enhancements will be available during Easter and other public holidays and celebrations, so keep playing and looking out for a variety of great and regular surprises in Pain each month.

Alongside the online multiplayer patch, there are a few more multiplayer extras in the pipeline. Pain will also be blessed with Darts and Fortress modes which will be released in the Smack Pack, due on March 26, 2009. Darts has you trying to score some eye-watering points with your well aimed human missiles, while Fortress is all about knocking down enemy castles with dynamite and explosive teddy bears - team up against each other or face the competition alone, with the last fortress standing taking the prize.

If you want a couple of new characters to explore these new features with, there's also an expansion of the Pain roster during late March and early April 2009, with the arrival of Mexican wrestler El Chile Grande and kung fu martial arts superstar Brock Lee.

With these dynamite extras and other downloadable content already available in the shape of themes, wallpapers, characters and more, now is the perfect time to get into Pain. So strap yourself in and launch yourself into the fun.
