PlayStation Store (PSP) update - 19/03/09

Fight the Chimera once more in Resistance: Retribution and pick up a range of classic games such as Twisted Metal: Head On and Silent Hill.

There's a wealth of treats both old and new in PlayStation Store for PSP owners this week. First up is Resistance: Retribution, the exclusive new chapter in the brilliant and haunting alternate history action series that takes place in between the events of Resistance: Fall Of Man and Resistance 2.

Next is SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo where you must command a covert U.S. Navy SEALs unit in 14 intense anti-terrorist assignments across the globe and compete in five multiplayer missions with up to 16 players via Ad Hoc Mode or up to 16 players via Infrastructure Mode.

Sneak, smash or shrink

Stealth master Sam Fisher arrives on PlayStation Store in Splinter Cell: Essentials, where you get the chance to immerse yourself in the world of international espionage and discover the entire Splinter Cell series through flashbacks and exclusive new missions.

Racing fans with a bloodlust are in for a wild time too with Twisted Metal: Head On, the racer with chaotic car combat carnage. And with the return of infamously macabre characters such as Needles Kane, Axel and Mr. Grimm - there is nowhere to hide from this adrenaline fuelled action game on four wheels.

Anyone looking for laughs will get a kick out of the arrival of Everybody's Golf, with a cast of colourful characters to get to grips with and the coolest clubhouses around, and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, where everybody's favourite intergalactic duo make their debut, bringing with them as much madcap action as you can handle.

Return to Silent Hill

Puzzle fans can test their skills with Spinout, the addictive game that charges you with rolling your Xorb across 54 of the wildest vertigo-inducing courses ever seen, discovering hidden shortcuts and power-ups along the way as you navigate your Xorb safely but speedily to the finish. Retro lovers can get their hands on the legendary Magic Carpet game that sends you on a dangerous quest to restore equilibrium to your mystical shattered worlds in one of the fastest flying experiences ever.

Last but by no means least is the epic classic Konami frightener, Silent Hill, in which you get the chance to revisit the once peaceful holiday town of Silent Hill, where the saga began. You play as Harry Mason, a man searching for his missing daughter in the terrifying adventure that introduced the world to psychological survival horror and has spawned a wealth of great sequels on PlayStation. Welcome to the madness that is Silent Hill.
