FIFA Interactive World Cup frequently asked questions

Read up on all you need to know about the latest edition of the FIFA Interactive World Cup, the largest videogame tournament in the world.

What is the FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC)?
The FIWC is a tournament which aims to find the best EA SPORTS FIFA 11 players in the world on PlayStation 3 via a series of online and Live Events. The top 32 players in the world are then invited to a live Grand Final where they compete for the title of FIFA Interactive World Cup Champion, a first prize of 20,000 USD and the chance to rub shoulders with the greatest footballers on the planet at the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala.

What do I need to enter the FIWC?
You will need to have a PlayStation 3 system, broadband Internet access and a copy of EA SPORTS FIFA 11. The following steps are then required:

Set up a PlayStation Network account and an EA account if you have not done so already.Start up your copy of FIFA 11 and ensure all the latest game updates have been installed.Go to the main menu and select Sign into EA.Head over to the FIFA Interactive World Cup menu and follow the instructions.

What are Live Events?
If you haven't qualified via one of the online seasons, you can secure your place at the Grand Final at one of the Live Events. A total of 10 places at this year's Grand Final are up for grabs at Live Events across the world. Due to enormous demand for places, many countries are also staging pre-qualifying tournaments.

These pre-qualifying tournaments offer a route into the nationwide final, the winner of which will earn a place at the Grand Final.

Where do the Live Events take place?
A list of pre-qualifier tournaments and national finals can be found right here at eu.playstation.com.

How do I register for Live Events?
For some events, registration can be completed online via an event specific EA website. For others, registration will take place on-site. Visit the dedicated EA website for each country hosting a live qualification event to find out how to register.

What are the general requirements for taking part?
The requirements for participating at Live Events vary from country to country, so be sure to check the terms and conditions on the FIFA Interactive World Cup website at FIFA.com/FIWC.
