Haunting Halloween highlights on PSN

Make your Halloween an unforgettable scream! PlayStation Network has a casket full of incredible entertainment that’s just the trick… and treat.

There's no need to be haunted by a lack of entertainment this Halloween thanks to PlayStation Network. Whether you're a PlayStation 3 or PSP owner, there's a gloriously ghoulish glut of games, downloads, comics and movies to download from PlayStation Store. The choice is frighteningly diverse - so it's up to you if you want to be entertained while you're sitting down on the couch or hiding behind it...

Costume Quest
Halloween themed games don't come along very often, and Costume Quest has the added delight of being one of the most unique role-playing games on PS3. Trick or treat your way through the neighbourhood and bash a myriad of monsters using a vast variety of special costumes.

Siren Blood Curse
A mixture of urban myths and the living dead are yours to explore in this gruesome adventure game on PS3. Available in 12 TV series style episodes, prepare to be chilled to the core as you and the visitors of Hanuda must save any survivors from the terrifying Shibito.

Burn Zombie Burn
The undead are on the march and only you have the brains to stop them. The cranium crunching beasts are roaming on your PS3, which means frantic arcade style zombie blasting is the only solution. Grab a mate for the unbeatable two player mode, pick up your shotgun and make those brain-dead fiends pay.

Monster Madness: Grave Danger
While you're in a monster mashing mood, this PS3 game is sure to make you feel like a hero as you roam through suburbia to save your town from a terrible evil. Join up to three friends and fend off over 70 different monster types in a splatter-laden shooter which is sure to have you on the edge of your seat.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Take the ghost busting crew anywhere you want with the latest adventures of Ghostbusters, on PSP. Join the original cast as a new recruit aiming to take on free-roaming vapours, focused non-terminal repeating phantoms... and worse. Afraid?

Monstrous minis on PlayStation Store
Sometimes the spookiest scares come in the smallest packages, which is exactly where minis come into play. The minis category on PlayStation Store features a massive mixture of great and gruesome bite-sized titles to download just in time for Halloween. Action fiends can blast their way through brutes galore in the likes of Alien Zombie Death, Dracula - Undead Awakening, Age of Zombies and the refreshingly different platform game Monsters (probably) Stole My Princess.

If you're after something a little more cerebral (just be sure to watch out for brain munching zombies looking for a feast in the process), then Freekscape: Escape from Hell, Zombie Tycoon and Hysteria Project may be just up your dark and shadowy alley.

Don't be fooled by their size - minis pack a monstrous punch.

Dark downloads
The frightful number of downloadable Halloween goodies on PlayStation Store is sure to keep you on your toes. Suitably scary themes for games such as Dead Nation can give your PS3 a delightfully dark demeanour, while you can dress up Sackboy in LittleBigPlanet on PlayStation 3 in a werewolf costume, Halloween mask or even download a spooky Monsters Level Kit.

Even the Wild West isn't safe from the living dead, thanks to the Undead Nightmare pack for Red Dead Redemption, which introduces ghost towns, cemeteries and zombies to the rootin' shootin' PS3 action adventure.

Digital Comics
Digital Comics on PSP plays host to a massive collection of creepy comic books to take with you wherever you go. Marvel Comics wants your brains with the hilarious and grisly comedy Marvel Zombies and Marvel Zombies 2. DC Comics also has its own take on horror with the excellent Trick or Treat, the zombie laden Black Cherry Bombshells and the utterly essential Sandman series.

The independent comic scene is also rife with brilliant horrors thanks to publishers like IDW and Markosia. From a whole range of Silent Hill and Castlevania comics to sink your teeth into, to titles such as From the Pages of Bram Stoker's Dracula: Harker, True Blood and Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse, there's plenty to tingle your spine with.

PlayStation Store Video Store
If monstrous movies are your thing, the PlayStation Store Video Store has a staggering number of nerve-jangling films. There are classic chillers including The Exorcist, Bram Stoker's Dracula and The Ring, savage slashers such as Jeepers Creepers, My Bloody Valentine and the 2010 remake A Nightmare On Elm Street, and monster mashes like George A. Romero's Land of the Dead and The Wolfman. Go on - get downloading... if you dare.

VidZone
Halloween isn't complete without a little partying, so make sure you have the soundtrack sorted for things that go bump in the night with VidZone, the free music video service on PS3. Get on down with the funky sounds of music videos such as Michael Jackson's Thriller, Godsmack's Voodoo and Alice Cooper's Feed My Frankenstein. If you're feeling a little too tired from all your trick or treating, you can also have VidZone do the work for you by downloading the Halloween Hits Playlist instead.

You don't have to travel far to get some scarily good fun with PlayStation. Thanks to PSN there are plenty of downloads to give you goosebumps at any time of the year - so don't miss a trick and make sure you get the ultimate treat over at PlayStation Store right now...
