Shoot! And the winner is…

The Dreaming, directed by Anthony Green, received the award for Best Short Film. Download it now from PlayStation Store and see why.

On February 13, 2009 the finale of Shoot! - a short film competition - took place in Berlin. All six films were screened together for the very first time and the winners announced:

Shoot! Emerging Director of the Year for Best Short Film: The Dreaming, directed by Anthony GreenShoot! Emerging Director of the Year for Best Screenplay: Bitter, written by George Kay, directed by Joel Wilson and Jamie Campbell

"Shoot! is very much a renaissance endeavour, the fusing of vibrant up and coming auteurs with established industry heavyweights, to produce short formats conducive to both Sony handheld PSP viewing as well as big screen adulation", said Tom Quinn, Judge of Shoot! and Head of Acquisitions at Magnolia Pictures.

"From the Jerry Buckheimer Executive Produced winning film, The Dreaming, a meditative and experiential triptych, to the cutthroat wit of the winning script, Bitter, a showdown between a father and his daughter's elderly lover, executive produced by Michael Winterbottom, this really is one of the most exciting competitions short cinema has on offer."

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, in association with Shorts International, has brought together emerging film directors from across the world. As part of Shoot! - a short film competition that pairs up emerging directors with award-winning film makers - they have created films based on the key words: Play, Create, Share, Connect, Discover and Challenge, which reflect the essence of PlayStation.

All six films are available on PlayStation Store or, for a limited time, on psshoot.com for you to enjoy. Each has been created by the hottest emerging moviemakers as part of Shoot!

To access PlayStation Store you will need a PlayStation Network account.
